Distric Rates for 2026

In response to increases in master meter water rates and service fees from Denver Water and increases in treatment costs from Metro Water Recovery, the Lakehurst Water and Sanitation District Board of Directors voted to increase our rates in 2026. The water consumption, service charge, and suspension fee increase will affect all District commercial and residential customers and will take effect January 1, 2026.

Water Rates

Service Fee $11.78 $12.72
Consumption/1,000 gallons $5.96 $6.22

Sewer Rates

Sewer Service $23.92 $24.40

Suspension Fee

Turn Off/On $100.00 $100.00
After Hours/Weekends $100.00 $100.00*

*The additional $100.00 Fee for restoring water service after business hours/weekends.

Lakehurst Water and Sanitation District does not have a property tax and must rely on water and sewer rates for revenue. These revenues are used to purchase water from Denver and treatment services from Metro Water Recovery and offset the operation and maintenance expenses for over 86 miles of water mains and 71 miles of sewer mains as well as the replacement of the aging water and sewer system.

Lakehurst continues to provide services at rates that are among the lowest rates in Denver suburban areas.

Additional information regarding the rate increase and other water or sewer related topics is available on our website, www.lakehurstwater.org or by calling Lakehurst Water and Sanitation District office at (303) 985-7895.

Understanding Suspension Notices

Lakehurst sends out Suspension Notices one week after our normal monthly billing. Suspension Notices are generated on the 5th day of each month for all accounts with unpaid balances 60 or more days past due. Suspension Notices are in bold red type so you will easily recognize the difference between a normal monthly bill a Suspension Notice.

If you receive a suspension notice, the entire past due balance is due by the date indicated on the suspension notice. This is a different date from when current charges are due.

Current charges are always due the 25th of each month. Past due amounts must be paid by the date indicated on the suspension notice to avoid interruption of service.

All accounts that remain unpaid by that date are assessed a $100.00 suspension fee and will be turned off until all past due amounts and the suspension fee are paid in full at Lakehurst's office, over the automated phone system, or online at www.lakehurstwater.org.

If payment is made after the due date listed on the suspension notice but before Turn Off, you will still be charged the $100.00 suspension fee.

Please do not hesitate to call the office before the suspension date if you have any questions about your bill.

Overpayments/Credit Balances

If your monthly statement has a minus ("-") sign in front of the Previous Balance and parentheses "( )" around the Total Amount Due, then you have a credit balance and no payment is due. Once the minus sign and parentheses drop off, then your balance will become a positive one and the amount shown is the new balance due.
