There is a user fee of $2.50 per transaction for online payments. If you are concerned with the cost, you can pay ahead and save. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and E-checks for your convenience.
For all concerns and questions and in case of an emergency call the District’s main office number 24 hours a day at 303-985-7895. Calls received outside normal working hours will be answered by the District’s answering service and the information will be directed to on call service personnel for assistance.

Lakehurst Bids Farewell to a Long Time Board Member
After serving twenty-six years and holding several positions as President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Director, Mr. William D. “Jake” Schild has announced his retirement from the Board of Directors. Jake’s broad technical management talents have greatly contributed to the policies guiding the success of the District’s domestic water and sanitary sewer service operations for more than six-thousand accounts.
Jake was involved in many pivotal, important decisions that shaped the way Lakehurst operates today including, but not limited to, Belleview-Simms Pump Station discussions with Denver Water, several iterations of the Lakehurst – Willowbrook sanitary sewer agreement, the inclusion of Lochmoor Water and Sanitation District into Lakehurst and several large District water and sewer projects that have improved and updated both systems. Serving for twenty-six years on the board from 1998 to 2024, Jake has witnessed and been a part of many changes and improvements as to how your water and sewer service is provided.
The Lakehurst Board of Directors and all the staff extend a sincere and heartfelt “thank you” to Jake for his long and distinguished service to Lakehurst and wish him well in the future.
Denver Water Implements 2024 Summer Water Use Program
Denver Water has implemented its 2024 Summer Water Use Program, which Lakehurst Water and Sanitation District, as a contract distributor, is legally obligated to follow and enforce.
Effective May 1 to October 1, customers may water no more than three days per week and must adhere to the watering rules laid out below.
- Water during cooler times of the day – lawn watering is NOT allowed between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Water any two days per week, adding a third day only when needed.
- Do not waste water by allowing it to pool on sidewalks, gutters, or streets.
- Newly planted seed or sod may be watered, as necessary, for up to 21 days. After 21 days, routine watering is limited to no more than three days per week and not between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Do not apply more water than is necessary to establish and maintain a healthy landscape.
- Turn your irrigation system off when it rains and during high winds.
- Make repairs to irrigation systems in a timely manner and adjust sprinkler heads appropriately.
- Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when washing your car.
2023 Consumer Confidence Report (Water Quality Report) is Available on the District Website
Each year the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mandates that all public water systems provide their customers with a water quality update called the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR).
Since Lakehurst operates under a contract with Denver Water, it is Denver Water’s duty to monitor and report on the quality of our treated water.
The CCR from Denver contains information regarding water quality regulations as well as recent testing results and evaluations.
District customers may log onto Lakehurst’s website - www.lakehurstwater.org - to view the CCR, or call the District office – 303-985-7895 – or Denver Water – 303628-6000 – with questions.
Lawn Watering Times
These times are based on a sprinkler system running at an efficient level. Watering is not allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The chart below is a starting point for the number of minutes to water each sprinkler zone on the days you determine watering is needed. These times are averages. Adjust your watering minutes based on rainfall, type of grass or plants, sunny or shady locations and other characteristics.
